Mokkoji Shabu Shabu Bar, 14041 Jeffrey Rd Irvine, CA 92620

Wanting to try different places to eat when staying in Irvine is a must, especially Asian Cuisines such as shabu shabu. This concept of shabu shabu is an Japanese cuisine where you are given a hot pot with a broth of your choosing and you cook whichever meats, seafood and/or veggies into your broth. This kind of cooking is similar with those of Chinese and Korean cuisine as well. But each ethnic group has their own version.

Here at Mokkoji is definitely the experience.

More to come later on.......

Hotel Irvine [Eats Kitchen & Bar] 3-9-16

Went for breakfast today at the Eat's Kitchen & Bar and was disappointed in the breakfast menu selection. The buffet is much better than what was ordered on the menu. Luckily as a guest at the Hotel Irvine, the buffet is complimentary. The omelette was a bit dry and the eggs benedict was not up to par.

The buffet, however was quite nice. There was a huge selection as for juices, cereal, pasties, and bread. If you do stay at Hotel Irvine, I would suggest to get yourself into Club 12. Club 12 has most of the foods downstairs, but more variety. They actually have 3 yogurts in 3 different bowls with fresh fruit on it. My favorite is the blueberry yogurt and the fresh blueberries on top. It makes the yogurt so much more enjoyable. Then of course is my favorite which are the plain bagels and the pastries. I am one happy camper when dining at Club 12 for my breakfast needs. Only if they had lunch... hmm..

If you do stay at Hotel Irvine, check their restaurant, though. Eats Kitchen and Bar

But also check out Club 12 The breakfast and evening snacks are to die for!

Hotel Irvine [Club 12]- 3/8/16

It is now Wednesday in the beautiful city of Irvine. Lots of things has happened since my last post and I get the opportunity post it on this blog. Hope you all 3 of my viewers or maybe just one viewer get to read this blog and see for yourself how hotel hospitality can be.

Club 12
This lounge is provided for those who stay on the club floor which is the 12th and 13th level. Now, I know this hotel used to belong to Hyatt and Hyatt usually gives options to other floors who want to get into the lounge to pay extra cash. I don't know if that is the same for Hotel Irvine or not. The breakfast is quite nice, but I wish they would rotate the food a bit. I am delighted that they did put more than just apple juice. I need my daily OJ and cranberry juice. The other breakfast options are three kinds of yogurt (strawberry, plain and blueberry); plain bagels with the option of cream cheese and lox, oatmeal, danishes, and blueberry muffin. There is also coffee and hot water for tea. The hard boiled eggs are already peeled which is odd because the first 2 days I came for breakfast are in the shell which is more sanitary. Now, I just stay away from the peeled eggs. Wish there were more options such as scrambled eggs, toast, rice krispie treats, etc.

The afternoon into late evening snack is quite nice. They rotate the dish every day. One evening there were sliders; the next evening was shrimp tempura and the evening afterwards was egg rolls. There is the veggie snacks which also nice and I enjoy that with a ranch dip. The complimentary beer and wine is also good, which means I don't have to go downstairs and pay for beer or wine. Good experience here throughout the stay.

How about opening until 12 midnight?

Hotel Irvine (3/6/16)

Well it has been 2 nights and 3 days here at Hotel Irvine.

Thoughts so far:

The shower/bathtub is quite accommodating even for the big and tall people. The toilets are also quite nice. If you are staying at a suite, the room space is very comforting and easy to move around. I think I am in love with this hotel. I have stayed at Hilton Garden Inn and Island Hotel in Irvine and Newport Beach, but haven't felt like this as I am right now.

Perks:
24 hour Marketplace (store) which is located downstairs on the lobby floor is quite nice. In addition to the market that is open 24 hours a day, there is also a kitchen that can make pizza, sandwiches, etc. So if you are hungry even in the morning, they will have someone on staff to make you a pizza.

Gym: No one uses the gym late at night, so for me it's definitely peace and quite. Plus, with all the daily activities that I have to do...the only time for me to go to the gym is late at night or early morning.

I have to say this place is really nice and I am enjoying my stay here thus far. If you like to check out my youtube channel, Traveldude1981 (click on this link, subscribe to my channel and check out my videos)

Until next time, have a Happy Sunday!!!

Hotel Irvine- [Club 12] (3/5/16)

It is now 8:33 am in the morning and this was necessary to come to Club 12 which is a floor beneath me for some breakfast. The breakfast was mediocre but satisfying to the tummy. There are bagels, lox, diced fruits, yogurts (blueberry, plain and strawberry), danishes, plain oatmeal, apple juice, hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I think I had way too many bagels but I feel good.

Club 12 is very laid-back and has a chill vibe. You have the option whether to eat inside the lounge or outside. Outside has a seating area with umbrellas. The views from the lounge is quite breath-taking. My room has the same view, but it's nice to get out of the room and enjoy the beats in the lounge. In addition to the relaxing lounge, there are complimentary 2 iMacs for use and TV's to watch mostly anything you desire. Well let's say.. most things.

So far, the stay has been very nice and there hasn't been any complaints yet. I wish I can include some pictures, but the policy here at the lounge restricts me from posting any photos due to the public network and the easy access to the photos. (the cloud.. darn you cloud!!!)

I have stayed in 3 other hotels while I have been in Orange County or in the area of the OC. Anyways, my mom wants to go back downstairs to check out the other restaurants in the hotel and see what other breakfast options are available. Will update the blog in a bit. Stay tuned!!!

Hotel Irvine 3/5/16 (early morning 2am)

First Impressions: Hotel Irvine

Self Parking: For the first time, I actually enojoyed the walk from the parking lot to the hotel entrance. Since we had arrived late, it seems that there is no bell service for the luggages. The lady at the bell desk offered to give me a cart. I thought that was just horrible. Even at this time at night, there's always bell service.

Atmosphere:
It seems to be very laid-back and top-notch customer service.  This is just a first impression, thus far.

Rooms:
My room is on the club floor. There are 14 floors in this hotel, so I was lucky enough to stay on the 13th floor. The room is quite spacious and the room is really nice so far. The room definitely reminds me of the hotel I stayed in Bercy, Paris. (Novotel Bercy). Is that a good sign? We shall see in the coming days. Now, I did notice that the room is fully stocked in coffee, teas, towels, etc. The only thing that the room lacks is shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. There is just one shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. If you request it though, the staff should accomdate you. And yes there is shower gel, upon request. Darn and I just showered with a bar of soap.

Pictures will be posted soon!!

Have you stayed here? I will post a video on my YouTube Channel soon. Stay tuned!!
